About CTET Exam
Full form of CTET is Central Teacher Eligibility Test which is the minimum eligibility criteria to become a teacher for class 1 to 8. From March, 2012, it becomes compulsory to qualify in ctet exam, to teach in any class from class I to Class VIII. The minimum marks to get qualified in ctet exam is 60%.

CTET exam is conducted by CBSE as per the entrusted responsibility received from the National Ministry of Human Resources Development. CBSE conducts the exam twice a year in 20 different indian languages.
The first ctet ctet exam was conducted in 2011 and the most recent ctet exam was conducted on 8 December 2019 in 110 different cities all over India.
CBSE conducts the exam in two different papers – Paper I for the candidates who want to teach from Lower Primary Classes I to V and Paper II – for class VI to VIII.In addition to this, there are two sections in Ctet Paper II – one is CTET Paper II Social Science section and the other is Mathematics and Science section.
CTET Qualification and Educational Creteria
Minimum qualifications Creteria for both papers Paper – I and Paper – II are different. All the educational qualification criteria are given below-
For Paper – I, A candidate must have minimum any one of the following criteria:
| A. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 50% marks + Passed or appearing in final year of 2 year D.El.Ed. Course. |
| B. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 45% marks + Passed or appearing in final year of 2 year D.El.Ed. Course in accordance with NCTE |
| C. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 50% marks + Passed or appearing in final year of 4 year B.El.Ed. course. |
| D. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 50% marks + Passed 2 year Diploma in education – special course. |
| E. Any Graduation degree + Passed 2 year D.El.Ed. Course. |
Education Eligibility Creteria for Paper – II
Any one of the following criteria –
| A. Graduation degree + Passed or appearing in 2 year D.El.Ed. course |
| B. Bachelor’s degree with 50% marks + Passed certificate from 1 year B.Ed. |
| C. Graduation degree with 45% marks + Completed a year in B.Ed., in accordance with NCTE |
| D. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 50% marks + Passed or appearing in final year of 4 year B.El.Ed. course. |
| E. Passed senior secondary or equivalent with 50% marks + Passed or appearing in final year of 4 year B.A.Ed or B.Sc.Ed. Course. |
| F. Completed Graduation degree with 50% marks + Passed or appearing 1 year Special B.Ed. Course. |
Age Limit-
- Still, there is no any age restriction, however, a candidate appearing in ctet exam must be at least 17 years old.
- The candidate should be citizens of India.
Minimum Qualifications Marks to get certified for CTET exam is 60%. However, for SC/ST or hill people, qualification marks is 5% less than the normal qualification marks.
The CTET Qualification certificate is valid for 7 year. A candidate can appear multiple times for ctet exams, and there is no any restriction about the maximum attempt Number for the examination.
CTET Online Application
CBSE conducts the CTET Exams twice a year – in the month of July and December, which are know as – CTET JULY and CTET DECEMBER popularly. The board CBSE release the application notification before 4-5 months of exam and the Online form submission start around 4 months before the exams through the Official Website of CBSE. After all, you need to follow the below steps to fill the online application form-

- Go through OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF CTET
- Log in yourself within the application time period given by CBSE.
- Fill primary profile form.
- Choose your paper/subject etc.
- Upload Passport photo and signature.
- Submit your form.
- Make necessary payment before last date.
After completing all these applications tasks, your application will be finally submitted to CBSE and you can get ready for the exam now.
CTET new Application Fees:
- For General/OBC : ₹1200 for both Paper – I and Paper – II AND ₹1000 for only one Paper.
- For Reserved Category: ₹600 for both Paper – I and II AND ₹500 for only one paper.
CTET Admit Card
Admit cards for the CTET exam releases 1/2 week before the exam. You must need to bring your admit card to seat in the examination hall. Along with admit cards, you need to bring your personal identification cards such as PAN, VOTER etc and may also passport photos with black/blue ball Pan. No other electric instruments are allowed under examination hall. Usually, Examination for Paper – I for the candidates of class I to V teacher conducts in morning shift and examination for paper – II in the evening shift.
CBSE declar the CTET exam results in their Official Website every year within 30 days post the examination.
